The total value of imports in April 2026 amounted to €7,353.2 million ($8,582.2 million), compared with €6,712.1 million ($7,504.6 million) in the same month of 2025, representing a 9.6% increase in euros.
According to data from the Hellenic Statistical Authority, the corresponding value excluding petroleum products in April 2026 decreased by 49.1 million euros, or 0.9%, while the corresponding value excluding petroleum products and ships increased by 13.2 million euros, or 0.2%, compared to April 2025.
The total value of exports in April 2026 amounted to €5,197.2 million (6,102.1 million dollars), compared to 3,831.0 million euros (4,308.8 million dollars) in the same month of 2025, representing a 35.7% increase in euros.
The corresponding value excluding petroleum products increased by €246.6 million, or 7.9%, while excluding both petroleum products and ships, it increased by €246.7 million, or 7.9%, compared to April 2025.
The trade deficit in April 2026 amounted to €2,156.0 million ($2,480.1 million), compared to €2,881.1 million ($3,195.8 million) in the same month of 2025, representing a 25.2% decrease in euro terms.
The corresponding value excluding petroleum products showed a reduction in the deficit of €295.7 million, or 11.5%, while excluding both petroleum products and ships, the reduction amounted to €233.5 million, or 9.5%.
The total value of imports during the January–April 2026 period amounted to €28,210.8 million (32,912.5 million dollars), compared to 27,315.7 million euros (29,133.8 million dollars) during the corresponding period of 2025, representing an increase of 3.3%.
The corresponding value excluding petroleum products increased by €363.2 million, or 1.7%, while excluding both petroleum products and ships, it increased by €365.2 million, or 1.7%.
The total value of exports during the January–April 2026 period amounted to €17,771.5 million ($20,849.9 million), compared to €15,972.6 million (17,121.5 million dollars) during the corresponding period of 2025, representing an increase of 11.3%.
The corresponding value excluding petroleum products increased by €525.5 million, or 4.2%, while excluding both petroleum products and ships, it increased by €507.9 million, or 4.1%.
The trade deficit for the January–April 2026 period amounted to €10,439.3 million ($12,062.6 million), compared to €11,343.1 million ($12,012.3 million) during the corresponding period of 2025, representing a decrease of 8.0% in euros.
The corresponding figure excluding oil products showed a decrease of 162.3 million euros, or 1.8%, while excluding both oil products and ships, the decrease amounted to 142.7 million euros, or 1.6%.
