Justice Minister George Floridis described the venue selected for the Tempi trial as “absolutely suitable” and noted that only a small minority of politicians—who are also defense attorneys—do not want the proceedings to begin.
Speaking on SKAI TV, Mr. Floridis pointed out that this is the largest venue capable of hosting such a trial, with sufficient seating on both the main and lower levels of the courtroom. According to the minister, any problems that arose in the past were due to a lack of police control regarding entry into the courtroom, something that will now be strictly regulated.
“The proceedings will begin as scheduled on Wednesday, with the participation of those required by law, ”he emphasized, noting that only a small minority of politicians who are also lawyers appear to be opposed to the trial’s commencement.
The proceedings will proceed as scheduled, with the court calling the parties’ attorneys one by one to verify their credentials. The minister noted that this opposition is not new, as during the two-and-a-half years that the investigation lasted, there were repeated attempts to delay or obstruct the trial.
