The new Joint Ministerial Decision (B’ 2332/April 27, 2026) of the Ministers of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, National Economy and Finance, Interior, Citizen Protection, Development, Social Cohesion and Family, Shipping and Island Policy, and Tourism regarding the adoption of Civil Protection measures in the Santorini Island Group.
The Joint Ministerial Decision incorporates the unanimous recommendation of the scientists, following the recent emergency meeting of the Permanent Scientific Committee for the Assessment of Seismic Risk and the Mitigation of Seismic Hazards, as well as that of the Permanent Scientific Committee for Monitoring the Hellenic Volcanic Arc of the OASP, and the recommendation of the Risk Assessment Committee, regarding the reassessment of restrictions on access to and stay in specific areas of the volcanic complex due to geodynamic phenomena.
