The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) is implementing significant improvements and simplifications to the approval process for duty-free allowances for the supply of fishing vessels, establishing a fully digital approval process through the application “My Requests, ” by decision of the Administrator, George Pitsilis (A.1092/2026).
The new simplified and fully digitized approval process introduces a modern, simple, and transparent service model, benefiting more than 12,000 professional fishermen, the AADE notesin its announcement.
Specifically, with the new digital process:
- The handwritten endorsement of the Tax Exemption Bookis completelyabolished.
- The necessary data is automatically retrieved and cross-checked through the AADE’s information systems, relieving fishermen of the obligation to submit supporting documents.
- There is no need to resubmit supporting documents that are already valid.
- The fisherman is notified digitally regarding the status of their application and any missing information.
Professional fishermen submit their applications digitally from the time they file their tax returns until December 31 of each year, via the“My Requests”on the myAADE digital portal (www.aade.gr), following the path Customs > Exemption Ledgers > Application for Digital Approval of the Right to Customs and Tax Exemption for Fishing Vessels
After submission, the relevant decision to approve or reject the application is issued digitally through the same application.
