Embraer and the Hellenic Aerospace Industry have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two companies in the aerospace and defense sectors.
The Memorandum was signed by Fabio Caparica, Vice President of Contracts at Embraer Defense & Security, and Alexandros Diakopoulos, Executive Chairman of the Hellenic Aerospace Industry.
The central objective of the agreement is for the Hellenic Air Force to achieve the operational autonomy and self-sufficiency required to manage and support the future C-390 fleet, while simultaneously strengthening the capabilities of the domestic industry.
“The signing of the Memorandum with Embraer is, for us, more than just a business agreement. It reflects our belief that EAB can and should be the natural choice for international aerospace companies seeking a reliable partner in Europe,” stated Alexandros Diakopoulos.
“Developing C-390 maintenance and support capabilities in Greece not only serves the operational needs of the Air Force but also establishes an industrial infrastructure with lasting and long-term value for the country. It is precisely this combination of operational autonomy and industrial development that defines HAI’s strategic direction.”
For his part, Fabio Caparica noted that Hellenic Aerospace Industry is a company with which Embraer has been collaborating for several decades.
“Throughout this journey, we have come to appreciate the expertise of its people and the quality of the work they deliver. Under these circumstances, HAI naturally emerges as our ideal partner in Greece.”
Douglas Lobo, vice president of customer support & aftermarket sales at Embraer Services & Support, noted that the strategic agreement paves the way for future discussions regarding the strengthening of domestic expertise in the maintenance sector.
“The agreement supports the development of expanded MRO capabilities and greater autonomy for the Air Force. We are committed to strengthening this partnership by leveraging our expertise in technical support services to enhance domestic expertise and support autonomy and create the conditions for a long-term and sustainable partnership.”
As he noted, the agreement will also allow Embraer to expand its presence in Greece and strengthen its long-standing relationship with the country.
The Memorandum of Understanding is part of Embraer’s long-term strategy to further strengthen and expand its presence in the European market, supporting the company’s growth and contributing to the advancement of the aerospace and defense sector at the European level.
