Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced the extension of the diesel subsidy for June, by 15 cents, during his address to the Cabinet. As the prime minister said, this initiative will keep diesel prices 30 cents lower than in March.
He also reiterated that a one-time family subsidy of 150 euros per child will be provided at the end of June .
“We are supporting incomes during times of crisis and promoting changes that consolidate the country’s progress… Citizens understand the importance of stability and certainty amid uncertainty… That was also the message of the elections in Cyprus, ” noted Mr. Mitsotakis.
Referring to the political landscape, he emphasized:“New parties are being announced with first-time or returning leaders who wear a different mask, even though they are already known from their public presence… Institutional forces, supposedly, are losing their seriousness and credibility in a political Tower of Babel where the common ground is criticism of the government. Anexample is PASOK, which did not vote in favor of Stournaras remaining at the Bank of Greece.”
