Kostas Bakirtzis was a distinguished figure in the labor movement, with a strong presence dating back to the years of the dictatorship and the transition to democracy, actively participating in the social and political struggles of the era. His career was closely linked to the labor movement and the major demands of workers, always remaining true to his ideas and values.
He was a founding member of the INE-GSEE, playing a decisive role in establishing a major institution for documentation, research, and support of the labor movement’s positions.
With his experience, knowledge, and fighting spirit, he left his mark on collective processes, negotiations, and the struggles to defend labor rights.
His memory and his contributions to the labor and trade union movement will remain alive.
