Olympic Brewery reaffirms its steadfast commitment to sustainable development, responsible business practices, and the creation of long-term value through the publication of its 2025 ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Report.
Over the past year, the company continued its journey toward sustainable development, building upon the Carlsberg Group’s ESG strategy, “Together Towards ZERO and Beyond.” 2025 also marked the transition to the next phase of the strategy, now named“Brewing Tomorrow,”under which science-based targets are set through 2032, building on the progress already achieved.
Environmental Results: Measurable Progress Across the Value Chain
Over the past six years, Olympic Brewery has achieved an overall 20% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions. Specifically for 2025, targeted interventions and investments in equipment and new systems have led to:
- 6.1% reduction in electricity consumption
- 3.9% reduction in thermal energy
- 3.7% reduction in related CO₂ emissions
At the same time, interventions across the entire value chain—from the use of lighter packaging materials to the modernization of the transport fleet and the introduction of new cooling technologies — have systematically improved energy efficiency and further reduced the carbon footprint.
In line with the circular economy, 74% of glass bottles were returnable. In addition, production by-products, such as yeast and spent grain, continued to be reused for energy recovery or as animal feed, significantly reducing waste generation and promoting more efficient use of resources.
Significant progress has also been made in water resource management. Over the past six years, Olympic Brewery has reduced its water footprint by 13%, and by 2025 will further enhance the efficient management of this precious natural resource through equipment upgrades, process improvements, and targeted water recovery and reuse practices at selected stages of production.
Responsible consumption: choices made with moderation and informed by substance
Promoting responsible consumption is a key pillar of Olympic Brewery’s business philosophy. 100% of the company’s packaging and communications carry clear messages about responsible consumption, while non-alcoholic and low-alcohol options now account for 31% of its total product portfolio.
At the same time, the company implements targeted public information and awareness campaigns. For example, in 2025, as part of Mythos 0.0%’s presence at major concerts and events, Olympic Brewery combined the promotion of non-alcoholic options with road safety initiatives, providing single-use breathalyzers and actively reinforcing the message of responsible drinking and safe travel home.
Investing in People with an Emphasis on Health, Safety, and Inclusion
In 2025, Olympic Brewery conducted 10,700 hours of training, reaffirming its consistent investment in its workforce. Particular emphasis was placed on Occupational Health and Safety, with targeted programs for prevention, training, and strengthening the safety culture at all levels of the company, ensuring a work environment that puts people first.
Diversity, equality, and inclusion are an integral part of its strategy, with women representing 60% of senior management positions. Furthermore, through targeted initiatives and partnerships, the company actively supports the equal participation and empowerment of diverse social groups. A special place is held by the partnership with WHEN, an organization dedicated to the professional and economic empowerment of women and equality in the workplace, through which the Female Founders Hub @Hospitality, aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs in the hospitality sector.
Strong corporate governance
Responsible corporate governance remains a fundamental operating principle of Olympic Brewery, with strict policies on ethics, transparency, and compliance, fully aligned with the standards and requirements of the Carlsberg Group.
