Vikos Ioannina is officially entering the world of professional basketball with the establishment of the Basketball Corporation “Vikos Ioannina Athletic Club Basketball Public Limited Company,” with the trade name “Vikos Falcons.” However, the focus of the new basketball club, founded with an initial share capital of 300,000 euros, divided into 300,000 registered shares with a par value of 1 euro each, marking the club’s institutional transition to a professional operating model, lies in who is supporting this transition.
The following individuals participated in the process of establishing the new company as representatives of the founding association and members of the provisional management committee: Ioannis Mantzios, Riginos Sepetas, Pavlos Sepetas, Evangelos Papangelis, and Nikolaos Sioumalas, who undertook the completion of the legal procedures for the establishment of the basketball club. The Sepetas business family is well-known in the market through the company Epirus Bottling Industry, under theVIKOS brand.
The founding sports club, Vikos Ioannina, retains, as required by the regulatory framework for sports corporations, a 10% stake through 30,000 non-transferable preferred shares with voting rights, which are linked to the use of the club’s name and distinctive features.
The remaining 90% of the share capital corresponds to 270,000 common registered shares, through which the company’s private shareholder base will be formed.
The company’s objectives include the creation, organization, and management of a professional men’s basketball team; the organization of official or friendly professional-level matches for this team; and its participation in all types of competitions, among other things.
