This is emphasized by sources at the Ministry of National Defense regarding statements coming from the Turkish side.
“At a time of heightened international challenges and ongoing hotspots of instability, statements that perpetuate baseless and legally flawed positions do not enhance regional security, nor do they serve stability in the Eastern Mediterranean,” the same sources note.
“The Hellenic Armed Forces maintain a consistently high level of operational readiness and deterrent power, consistently defending national sovereignty and national security,” conclude sources from the Ministry of National Defense.
Earlier, Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler, in his statements, among other things, revived the “theory of the ‘Blue Homeland’” and “its protection,” referring to the militarization of the Aegean islands by Athens.
