Payments of the heating allowance for the 2025–2026 winter season have been completed for 868,466 beneficiaries, for purchases and consumption of subsidized heating fuels or thermal energy via district heating or electricity, which took place up to and including March 31, 2026. The amount of the second installment payment totals 41,047,949.27 euros. In total, 165.26 million euros have been disbursed to date, with 124.2 million euros relating to the December 2025 advance payments.
At the same time, a Joint Ministerial Decision (JMD) was signed by the co-competent ministers of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou, as well as by the Deputy Ministers of National Economy and Finance, George Kotsiras and Thanos Petralias, and the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Nikolaos Tsafos, upon the recommendation of the Governor of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), George Pitsilis. The decision amends A.1151/2025, with the aim of facilitating the payment of the heating allowance to beneficiaries who were inadvertently issued incomplete or incorrect heating oil sales receipts.
More specifically, this amendment allows for the correction of the aforementioned receipts for purchases made from January 1, 2026, to March 31, 2026. Correct documents may be issued and submitted by August 31, 2026, in order to fully and accurately reflect the relevant transactions. Payment of the heating allowance for the above heating oil purchases will be completed by September 30, 2026, with the amounts already paid being offset.
The process of issuing the corrected documents is carried out by the heating oil retailers. To correct incomplete or incorrect receipts and transmit the necessary data to the AADE’s information systems, the retailer must follow these steps:
- i) Issuance of a credit document. A credit document is issued with the same details as the incomplete or incorrect debit document. If the original incomplete or incorrect document did not include fuel codes, these details should not be included on the credit document either.
- ii) Issuance of a new, correct document. Subsequently, the Station Owner issues the correct debit receipt, which includes all the required information (recipient’s Tax ID, liters and fuel code, electricity supply number) for the payment of the heating allowance.
