Skaramanga Shipyards will sign a memorandum of cooperation with South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries on Tuesday, June 2, as part of the international maritime exhibition Posidonia 2026.
The agreement concerns the exploration and development of partnerships in shipbuilding programs for the Hellenic Navy and the Coast Guard, as well as the construction of specialized commercial vessels, paving the way for potential joint ventures between the two parties in the Greek and international markets.
According to the management of Skaramanga Shipyards, the collaboration with one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups represents a significant step toward strengthening the Greek shipbuilding industry and expanding the shipyard’s capabilities in both the defense and commercial sectors.
The signing of the memorandum comes at a time when Skaramanga Shipyards is strengthening its presence in commercial ship repairs and carrying out projects for the Navy, such as the maintenance of Type 214 submarines and preparations for the upgrade of the MEKO frigates.
