The growth of private providers in the Greek retail electricity market continued in May, with their total market share reaching 53.86%, according to data from the Hellenic Energy Exchange (EnEx).
As a result, PPC’s market share fell to 46.14%, marking a decrease of 3.1 percentage points compared to April.
In the ranking of alternative suppliers, Protergia remained in first place with a 23.68% market share, followed by IRON with 10.08%. Enerwave came in third with 6.67%, while NRG held a 4.10% share.
At the same time, the average clearing price in the market stood at 88.98 euros per MWh, up by 0.26 euros on a monthly basis and by 7.04 euros compared to May 2025.
Total electricity demand reached 4,954 GWh, marking an annual increase of 11.9%, a trend attributed primarily to the rise in electricity exports.
