In light of the positive reports from the European Commission and the International Monetary Fund, the Governor of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (IAPR), George Pitsilis, sent the following letter of thanks to all IAPR employees:

In their recent reports on Greece, the European Commission and the International Monetary Fund explicitly recognized the progress achieved in critical areas of tax and customs administration: the digitization of tax and customs audits, the development of digital compliance tools, the significant reduction of the VAT gap, and the overall strengthening of tax compliance in the country.
As the European Commission acknowledges in its announcement today, this project’s contribution was decisive in Greece’s removal from the list of countries with macroeconomic imbalances.
This credit belongs to all of us together and to each of you individually.
It is the result of countless hours of work, dedication, and professionalism from every employee of this Authority.
Every digital system you have developed, every process you have improved, every taxpayer you have served with dignity and efficiency—all of these contribute to the image that is now recognized by all international institutions.
I want to personally thank you for your work over all these years.
I know how demanding the tasks you perform every day are, and I know that you carry them out with responsibility and a love for your work.
This is the foundation upon which we build.
Our goal is clear: to continue working together toward the ongoing improvement of the services and operations of the AADE.
To continue building an Authority that is increasingly reliable, modern, and at the service of every citizen and every business—for the good of our country as a whole.
