Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Sofia today, where he met with Bulgaria’s new Prime Minister, Rumen Radev.
According to the Maximos Mansion, during their meeting, the two leaders conducted a comprehensive review of bilateral relations and expressed a mutual desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of connectivity —energy and transportation— defense, the management of transboundary water resources, and coordination on issues of mutual European interest.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of dialogue toward a long-term and comprehensive agreement on the management of the transboundary waters of the Arda and Nestos rivers, which will be mutually beneficial for both countries.
He noted the importance of regional connectivity, both in energy and transportation, as well as the importance of strengthening defense cooperation, including through the use of European funds.
Issues on the European agenda were also discussed, with an emphasis on the new Multiannual Financial Framework.
