Rena Dourou reportedly spoke of a "trust deficit," during her address to the Central Committee, asking Socrates Famellos to prove that he has no plan to “dissolve” the party, by setting a clear timeline and a “roadmap.”
As she said, “the Central Committee and the Political Secretariat cannot base their discussions on polls and media reports,” while she noted that there should be no “speculation” that “some people are saying we should join ELAS because they have a position.”
He added, however, that those who say SYRIZA should run in the elections as part of some kind of united front, “it does not mean that we will go against or compete with ELAS,” and she spoke in favor of a programmatic alliance, rather than speaking in terms of “credentials” regarding Alexis Tsipras.
In closing, R. Dourou called on the party president to accept the amendment that was submitted, even at this late stage, emphasizing that otherwise “you’re throwing us all to the dogs.”
