The Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Stavros Papastavrou, arrived in Washington today, where he will meet with U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.
Mr. Papastavrou and Mr. Wright are co-hosting a meeting of the members of the East Med Gas Forum (EMGF) to discuss energy developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The discussion will focus on energy security, the implementation of projects and infrastructure development, the promotion of large-scale investments, and the strengthening of regional cooperation.
Subsequently, Mr. Papastavrou and Mr. Wright will attend the annual official Leaders Council Dinner, organized by the Atlantic Council.
On Tuesday, Mr. Papastavrou will hold a bilateral meeting with Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Mr. Karim Badawy.
Meanwhile, on June 8 and 9, the Minister of Environment and Energy, along with his U.S. counterpart, will participate in the Atlantic Council’s annual Global Energy Forum, while Mr. Papastavrou will also take part in the East Med Business Forum, which is being held on the sidelines of the conference on the Eastern Mediterranean.
On Thursday, Mr. Papastavrou will travel to Houston, where the ministerial meeting of the 3+1 energy format (Greece, Cyprus, Israel, and the U.S.) is expected to take place.
