Two and a half years after joining the Barba Stathis Group, Halvatzis Makedoniki has recorded double-digit growth in profitability. According to last year’s financial statements, the company increased its sales by 9.6%, with revenue reaching €15.1 million from €13.8 million in 2024.
Even more significant was the improvement in EBITDA, which reached €3.1 million, an increase of 29.2%; pre-tax profits rose by 38.8% to €2.5 million, and net profits stood at €1.9 million, marking an 11.8% increase.
Management attributes this performance both to the growth of all core product categories and to the synergies resulting from the company’s acquisition by Barba Stathis in late 2023. Leveraging the group’s distribution network, expanding its presence in small-scale retail, and launching new product lines contributed to these results, according to the company.
Based on the financial statements, in the steamed vegetables category, the company holds a 73.9% market share by value, up 7%. Meanwhile, exports increased by 15.8%, while activity in the catering sector rose by 11.5%.
During the same period, cash and cash equivalents rose to €2.3 million from €2 million in 2024, while bank debt decreased by 12.2% to €3.6 million. For the current fiscal year, the company’s management is focusing on expanding the product portfolio, boosting exports, and making new investments in the production process and automation, with the aim of increasing productivity and reducing costs.
