Five Attica Suburban Railway stations are set to undergo upgrades, as GAIAOSE, a member company of the Superfund, has announced an open bidding process for the renovation of the “Ano Liosia,” "Metamorfosi," "Iraklio," "Kifissia," and "Penteli," with the aim of improving the daily experience for citizens and upgrading the image of the railway.
As noted in the relevant announcement, the initiative is part of an ongoing comprehensive effort, coordinated by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, aimed at improving the image, functionality, and travel experience for citizens on the railway network through collaboration among railway operators.
Interventions for more functional and modern stations
The project, funded by GAIAOSE with a budget of €353,037.14 plus VAT, includes renovation, improvement, and beautification work at the five stations. GAIAOSE, as the custodian of railway real estate, seeks to optimize the value of these properties while respecting their railway character and intended use.

Through targeted interventions, the project seeks to enhance the aesthetic and functional quality of stations, while also boosting the appeal of rail as a modern and reliable mode of transportation.
