A lawsuit seeking €1.5 million in damages against the website bankingnews.gr was filed in the Athens Court of First Instance by Nammos World, the company that operates the Nammos restaurant on Psarou Beach in Mykonos, and the company’s founder, Tzannis Frantzeskos, as announced in a statement signed by attorney Nikolaos Agapinos.
As noted in the statement, “our company and our founder, having exhausted every means of out-of-court resolution of the issue by serving extrajudicial notices against the party in question, we hereby announce that it filed a lawsuit today in the Athens Court of First Instance seeking €1,500,000 in damages for the unethical attack we have suffered from the media outlet in question.”
It also announces that the entire amount awarded will be irrevocably donated to The Smile of the Child.
According to the announcement, “the founder and creator of the Nammos brand, Mr. Frantzeskos Tzannis, and the Nammos company have, from 2003 to the present, promoted Greek tourism to the far corners of the earth more than anyone else, to such an extent that variousfinancial giants of the world’s highest caliber have already invested in this brand and the vision of its founders, while our island and the Cyclades in general, following our success, have become the center of the country’s tourism business interest.”
According to the relevant statement, the website “insults the founder of Nammos, the company, and Greek tourism as a whole,” and “continues unabated and without shame to spread false news in violation of all journalistic ethics, as it fails to verify its claims with our company as it should.”
