Good news for thousands of citizens who were left out of the DYPA Social Tourism program, as, according to the agency’s deputy director, Vasilis Georgiadis, the expansion of the program to include an additional 30,000 beneficiaries has been finalized.
As he revealed while speaking on the ERTnews program “Newsroom” with Giorgos Siadimas, following collaboration between the DYPA and the Ministry of Labor and Minister Niki Kerameos, an increase in the program’s budget is being planned to include the first 30,000 runners-up who were left out of the initial allocation.
“In addition to the 300,000 beneficiaries who have already received a social tourism voucher, another 30,000 of our fellow citizens will be added,” Mr. Georgiadis stated.
Automatic notification of new beneficiaries
According to the deputy director of DYPA, once the required procedures are completed, new beneficiaries will be automatically notified via email, and there will also be an official announcement.
The expansion of the program essentially concerns the first 30,000 alternates, without changing the previously announced results or the selection process.
What the Social Tourism Program Offers
Eligible participants can take vacations at thousands of participating accommodations throughout the country, with special benefits depending on the region.
In Northern Euboea, Evros, and Thessaly (excluding the Sporades), up to 12 free nights are provided, while on islands such as Rhodes, Kos, Leros, Chios, and Lesbos, up to 10 free nights are provided.
For the rest of Greece, the program covers up to six nights with a small co-payment by the beneficiary, ranging from 1 to 12 euros per night, depending on the accommodation.
At the same time, those who choose island destinations are entitled to a 25% discount on ferry tickets.
