The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) Office in Turkey, in collaboration with the Peloponnese Region, organized a familiarization trip for representatives of digital content creators with the aim of promoting the Peloponnese as a year-round destination.
According to a related announcement, this initiative marks the first organized and targeted effort to promote the Peloponnese in the Turkish tourism market through the collaboration of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) Office in Turkey and the Peloponnese Region, paving the way for a new area of cooperation to promote the destination to the Turkish public.
During the mission, the digital content creators had the opportunity to experience a wide range of experiences that make up the Peloponnese’s tourism identity.
The program included visits to iconic cultural and historical destinations, such as Mystras, Palamidi, Akronafplia, and Monemvasia, as well as areas of exceptional natural beauty, such as the Kastania Cave, the Agios Nikolaos Geopark, and Cape Tenaro. At the same time, participants visited Areopolis, Gerolimenas, Vathia, Kardamyli, Elafonisos, and Kalamata, gaining a comprehensive picture of the Peloponnese’s cultural, natural, and culinary wealth.
The Peloponnese possesses unique characteristics that align with current trends in the Turkish outbound travel market, as it combines authentic experiences, a rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and a variety of tourism products. In this context, developing synergies with the Peloponnese Region is considered particularly important for expanding the destination’s recognition and reaching new groups of visitors from Turkey.
The initiative was implemented as part of the promotion of new destinations and the Greek National Tourism Organization’s (GNTO) plan for the further development of the Turkish market. As highlighted by the Peloponnese Region, the Turkish market is of particular interest to the destination, as there is growing demand for travel experiences that combine culture, nature, gastronomy, and experiential activities. The successful collaboration between the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and the Peloponnese Region underscores the importance of coordinated outreach efforts for the more effective promotion of Greek destinations abroad.
