Starting today, Monday, June 15, the process for issuing eligibility certificates for the new “Home Renovation,” with a total budget of 500 million euros, which concerns the renovation and mild energy retrofitting of older homes.
Interested parties can already use their Taxisnet codes to check whether they meet the eligibility criteria, in order to prepare for the application period, which begins on September 1.
The program provides for a subsidy of up to 95% of the cost of the work, with a maximum grant of 36,000 euros per residence or 300 euros per square meter.
The highest subsidy rate applies to homes in mountainous and island regions, as well as households belonging to vulnerable social groups, such as large families, single-parent families, and people with disabilities.
Homes with a building permit issued by the end of 1990, with a floor area of up to 120 square meters, are eligible to participate. For families with three or more children, the limit increases to 150 square meters.
Additionally, the homes must fall within energy efficiency class C, must not have been included in a similar program after January 1, 2020, and must not be registered under a short-term lease arrangement.
Homes that remain vacant during the 2024–2025 period or are currently occupied are eligible for the program.
Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis. Priority will be given to applications for lower subsidy amounts, followed by applications approaching the maximum aid limit of 36,000 euros.
