With no surprises at the top but some new faces on the ballot, the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) is holding elections today to select its new leadership for the next two years.
The focus of the election process, which is taking place as part of the Association’s annual general meeting, is not on the presidency, as the re-election of current president Spyros Theodoropoulos is considered a foregone conclusion, since he is the only candidate.
Instead, attention is focused on the composition of the new board of directors and the battle for votes among the candidates.
The candidates for the three vice-chair positions are Panagiotis Athanasopoulos of ElvalHalcor, HelleniQ Energy CEO Andreas Siamis, and Alpha Bank CEO Vasilis Psaltis. Eftychis Vasilakis, president of Aegean and long-time vice president of SEV, is absent from this year’s election race.
Alexandra Papalexopoulou of the Titan Group is a candidate for the position of secretary general, while Markos Veremis of Big Pi Ventures is once again running for the position of treasurer.
However, the main focus of the election is on the 14 positions for elected members of the board of directors. Seventeen nominations have been submitted for these positions, meaning three candidates will not be part of the new governing body.

- Aristotelis Panteliadis (METRO/My Market)
- George Peristeris (GEK TERNA)
- Kyriakos Sambatakakis (Accenture Greece)
- Menelaos Tasopoulos (Papoutsanis)
- George Triantafyllou (Motor Oil)
- Theodoros Tryfon (ELPEN)
- Evangelos Chrysafis (METLEN)
Between the 2024 elections and the current ones, the changes in the board members are not radical, but there appears to be new blood vying for votes.
These include Olga Vagena of BIC Violex, Alexander Kikizas, Achilleas Konstantakopoulos of TEMES, Nikolaos Loulis of Loulis Food Ingredients, and George Triantafyllou of Motor Oil.
