The results of the evaluation of the actions “Support for the Establishment of Micro and Small Enterprises in the Island Regions of the DAM 2021–2027 Program” and “Support for Existing Micro and Small Enterprises in the Island Regions of the DAM 2021-2027 Program” – “Green Business.”
More specifically, 195 funding applications were approved for the establishment of new micro and small enterprises, with a total eligible grant budget of 24.8 million euros and public expenditure of 17.3 million euros. At the same time, 269 funding applications from existing micro and small enterprises were approved, with a total eligible grant budget of 31.8 million euros and public expenditure of 22.3 million euros.
In total, under the “Green Business” initiative, 464 funding applications were approved, with a total eligible grant budget of 56.6 million euros and total public expenditure of 39.6 million euros.
The approved projects are funded by the European Union’s Just Transition Fund (JTF) and national resources.
Beneficiaries are notified electronically at the email address they provided when submitting their application, via the Integrated State Aid Information System (OPSKE).
The “Green Business” is a particularly important initiative of the 2021–2027 Fair Development Transition Program aimed at strengthening entrepreneurship and sustainable development in island intervention areas with a population of up to 3,100 residents (as defined by the tax differentiation threshold under Law 4172/2013), according to the latest census from 2021.
Through funding for 464 new and existing small businesses, investments totaling 56.6 million euros are being mobilized, contributing to the creation of new jobs, the stimulation of the local economy, and the acceleration of the green transition.
At the same time, the initiative strengthens the competitiveness and outward orientation of micro and small enterprises, strengthens the resilience of local communities, and actively supports the objectives of the DAM Program for a more sustainable, competitive, and innovative development model in the DAM island regions.
The publication of these results marks another step forward in supporting entrepreneurship and creating new development opportunities in the island regions covered by the DAM Program 2021–2027.
