The Region of Thessaly approved the inclusion of VITAFREE Hellenic Biscuit Factory S.A. to the Model Environmental Commitments for the operation of its cookie production facility and the addition of a jam production line at its facilities in Taxiarches, Farkadona, Trikala.
The decision is accompanied by specific environmental conditions, which require proper waste management, soil and water protection, as well as measures to limit noise, dust, and odors. At the same time, the company is required to comply with fire safety regulations, train its staff, and ensure the safe storage and transport of raw materials and products.
Furthermore, the company must be registered in the Electronic Waste Registry and submit annual reports on its waste management, as stated in the document. The approval paves the way for the expansion of the plant’s production activities.
VITAFREE is a company belonging to the same business group as Violanta. Both companies are owned by the Tziortziotis family and operate in the food and baked goods sector.
Violanda is the main and oldest company, while VITAFREE was established with the aim of producing and marketing products such as sugar-free cookies, high-protein products, and others.
