BayWa r.e. Solar Trade Greece supplied 10 Huawei LUNA2000-215 Smart String ESS energy storage systems to MES Energy S.A. for a C&I energy storage project in Astakos, Xiromero, with a total capacity of 2.15 MWh.
The system supports load shifting and peak shaving applications, reduces energy costs and dependence on the grid, and enhances self-consumption, thereby improving energy flow management.
BayWa r.e.’s with Huawei highlights the long-standing and strong relationship of trust between the two companies at the pan-European level, which has spanned more than ten years and supports the successful implementation of complex industrial energy storage projects with high requirements.
BayWa r.e., acting as a link between the manufacturer and the installer, adds value to the project supply chain by supplying photovoltaic equipment from the world’s leading manufacturers to Greece, Cyprus, and the Balkans.
Kostis Terzis, CEO of MES Energy S.A., stated: “Energy storage is a key factor in optimizing energy efficiency and maximizing the value of investments in renewable energy sources. This project represents a significant milestone for MES Energy, as its total capacity of 2.15 MWh ranks it among the largest energy storage facilities in the C&I sector in Greece.
“Our collaboration with BayWa r.e. and Huawei played a decisive role in the successful implementation of a project with high technical requirements, which offers increased energy flexibility, reliability, and long-term value to the end customer.”
