On June 16, officials from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) visited the facilities of HELLENIC METRO S.A. in Thessaloniki.
Specifically, according to the relevant announcement, the European Commission officials—Mr. Nicola de Michelis, Deputy Director-General of the Directorate for Program Implementation, and Mr. Konstantinos Niafas, Program Manager for Greece and Cyprus, visited the company’s offices and the Operations Control Center at the Pylaia Depot.
During the visit, the CEO of HELLENIC METRO S.A., Mr. Christos Fafoutis, presented the progress and planning of the Metro projects in Athens and Thessaloniki, with particular emphasis on the contribution of European funds to the implementation of these infrastructure projects.
Also participating in the visit was the Director of the Special Management Service for the “TRANSPORT 2021–2027” Program, Mr. Dimitris Pallas.
