The Ministry of Migration and Asylum has approved a total of 5,961,270 euros in funding for the Municipality of Leros to carry out infrastructure projects and upgrade municipal services on the island.
The funding is allocated to five projects. Specifically, 2,457,000 euros are earmarked for improving the road network of the Municipality of Leros, €655,200 for the procurement and installation of equipment to upgrade playgrounds, and €290,340 for the procurement of seven kiosks equipped with autonomous systems for the production and distribution of drinking water.
At the same time, 2,507,310 euros will be allocated for the procurement and installation of lighting poles and autonomous solar-powered streetlights, while 51,420 euros are earmarked for the procurement of a 4×4 light-duty truck, which will meet the needs of the Municipality’s Water Supply Department.
According to the announcement, the projects aim to strengthen basic infrastructure, improve municipal services, and address the day-to-day needs of the island’s residents.
