The Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (SFEE), in collaboration with Industry Disruptors - Game Changers (ID-GC), participated in BEYOND 2026, the international technology and innovation exhibition held from June 17 to 19 at the Metropolitan Expo.
As part of the strategic initiative “Innovation Meets Industry,” SFEE organized three consecutive panels dedicated to innovation in the pharmaceutical sector.
According to the relevant announcement, the discussions focused on critical topics linking the pharmaceutical industry with research, startups, investors, and technology: from biotechnology financing and the transfer of scientific knowledge from the lab to the market, to the use of health data and artificial intelligence.
Panel 1 | “Investing in Health Innovation: Capital, Risk, and the Greek Biotech Opportunity”
The discussion focused on investments in biotechnology and the conditions necessary for creating a dynamic biotechnology ecosystem in Greece. Participants included: Olympios Papadimitriou (President of SFEE / General Manager of Novo Nordisk), G. Nounesis (President of ESETEK), I. Alafakis (CEO & Co-Founder, maMEDS), D. Iakovidis (Partner, Metavallon VC), and S. Stavridis (Metabusiness / La French Tech Athens).
Panel 2 | “Greece as a Bioinnovation Hub: From Lab to Market”
The transition from research to the market and the value of collaborations between research centers, spin-offs, and pharmaceutical companies were the focus of the discussion. Participants included: V. Kontozamanis (former Deputy Minister of Health), S. Filotis (Vice President of SFEE, Vice President and General Manager of Pharmaserve-Lilly), G. Skretas (Institute for Bioinnovation / ResQ Biotech), and S. Mavrikou (CEO of Ce.B.Tec / Agricultural University of Athens).
Panel 3 | “The Data Prescription: Health Data, AI, and the Future of Precision Medicine in Greece”
The role of health data and artificial intelligence in shaping personalized care models is already shaping new approaches to healthcare delivery. Participants included: Dr. A. Angelis (Secretary General for Strategic Planning, Ministry of Health), K. Papagiannis (Secretary General of SFEE, Country President & Managing Director of Novartis Greece, Cyprus, and Malta), I. Karagiannis (Chairman of the Board of Directors, IDYKA), A. Kakasis (CEO, AINIGMA Technologies), and A. Jakoncic (Vice President of SFEE, President of MSD Greece, Cyprus, and Malta).
The thematic panels were moderated by Giorgos Sakkas, a journalist for the newspaper “TO VIMA.”
SFEE’s presence at BEYOND 2026 reaffirms the Association’s role as an institutional catalyst for innovation in healthcare and highlights Greece’s potential to evolve into an emerging hub for bioinnovation and health technology.
