EFET, specifically the Attica Regional Directorate, was notified via the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) regarding the distribution on the Greek market of shellfish originating from South Korea in which the presence of norovirus was detected following a self-inspection by the Dutch company.
Specifically, the product in question is frozen oysters originating from South Korea, with the brand name “Surasang,” in 226g plastic packaging, with a production date of April 26, 2025, and a “best before” date of April 25, 2027.
This product was distributed to various retailers specializing in Asian food products.
EFET has ordered the immediate recall of the entire product from retail stores, and the relevant inspections are already underway.
Consumers who have already purchased this product (see photo below) are urged not to consume it.
