Papastratos and the Department of Management Science and Technology (DET) of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), marking the beginning of a long-term partnership aimed at improving career prospects for the next generation.
Under the terms of the Memorandum of Cooperation, among other things, the awarding of 50 scholarships over the next 5 years to students from the regions who will study in the Department of Management Science and Technology, beginning with the new academic year. Currently, up to 10 scholarships are planned per year, and each scholarship may be renewed for up to four years of study, reaching a total value of 26,000 euros per scholarship recipient. The selection of scholarship recipients will take into account geographic and socioeconomic criteria, as well as academic performance, which will be evaluated at the end of each academic year.
The partnership with the Athens University of Economics and Business was established as part of FutuReady Greece, an initiative announced by Papastratos to mark the 95th anniversary of its presence in Greece and with its 100th anniversary in sight. The goal of this initiative is to create opportunities for education, skills development, and professional growth for young people, so that they can prepare for both the challenges and the opportunities that the future of work will bring.
Paid Internship
The memorandum of cooperation between AUEB and Papastratos provides for a broader framework of strategic cooperation between the two parties, which includes connecting students and recent graduates with Papastratos’ paid internship program (FutuReady Internship Program), as well as graduates of the Department with the international talent development program (Graduates Program). At the same time, students will have the opportunity to interact with Papastratos’s management team both through lectures as part of their undergraduate courses and through educational visits to the company’s facilities.
In addition, joint studies and research projects are planned, with indicative areas of focus such as technological advancements, skills, and the challenges of the next generation.

Also present at the signing ceremony for the Memorandum was the Minister of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports, Sophia Zacharaki, who described the collaboration between the two organizations as a “particularly important example of connecting the academic community with society and the labor market, for the benefit of students and young people striving to achieve their goals.”
At the same time, the Minister of Education noted that from 2019 to the present, funding for the housing allowance has increased from 42 to 90 million euros annually, while we are also strengthening scholarships, internships, and student welfare initiatives. At the same time, through the Recovery Fund, the Ministry of Education is providing more than 3 million euros in funding for two new joint and dual master’s programs at the Athens University of Economics and Business in partnership with leading universities abroad.
For her part, the CEO of Papastratos stated that the company wants to stand by the young people who are currently studying, dreaming, and preparing for the future. “Through FutuReady Greece, a legacy initiative marking Papastratos’ 100th anniversary as well as a legacy for the country, we are creating the conditions for the younger generation to effectively tackle today’s challenges and for us to continue serving Greek society, by investing in those who are building the future—in its people,” he emphasized.
Finally, the Rector of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), Vasilis Vasdekis, noted that “awarding 50 scholarships over the next five years to male and female students from outside Athens strengthens equal opportunities, supports excellence, and contributes substantially to social mobility. At the same time, initiatives such as internships, professional development, lectures, and joint research projects create a fruitful bridge between academic knowledge and practical application.”
