By decision of Nikos Papathanasis, Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, the project titled “Socioeconomic Development of the Just Transition Areas of the Peloponnese Region,” with a total budget of 63.8 million euros.
This includes the following eight individual public infrastructure projects in the critical sectors of education and social welfare, transportation, and the upgrading of urban spaces and urban functions, with a significant developmental impact across the entire Region.
1. Creation of a Creative Activities Center (KDA) for children on the neurodiversity and autism spectrum
2. Tripoli Regional Road
3. Establishment of an agricultural school
4. Dimitsana bypass
5. Industrial Park Interchange (Meligala)
6. Peloponnese Regional Administration Headquarters
7. Digitization of Peloponnese Regional Authority archives
8. Digitization of Peloponnese Regional Authority services
These specific initiatives are designed to address the identified needs of local communities and serve as a concrete example of support for the transition of the DAM regions of the Peloponnese Region—with a focus on the Megalopolis area— toward a new and more modern development model.
This decision launches the implementation process for the projects approved for the Peloponnese Region under Pillar III of the European Mechanism for Just Transition Areas. Funding for these projects combines loans from the European Investment Bank (EIB) with grants from the EU budget and national resources.
