The contract for the energy retrofit of three elementary schools in Agia Paraskevi was signed in the office of Nikos Hardalias, Regional Governor of Attica, in the presence of Yiannis Mylonakis, Mayor of Agia Paraskevi, the CEO of KTYP S.A., Athanasios Giannaris, and a representative of the contracting company.
According to the relevant announcement, the project, with a total eligible cost of 1.18 million euros plus VAT, is funded by the “Attica 2021–2027” Regional Program — Priority 2A, ERDF Fund — and concerns the energy retrofit of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Elementary Schools of Agia Paraskevi.
As part of the project, window frames will be replaced, thermal and moisture insulation and ventilation systems will be installed, heating, cooling, and artificial lighting systems will be upgraded, and photovoltaic systems will be installed.
As Mr. Hardalias stated: “Today we are taking yet another significant step in our effort to create modern, safe, and sustainable school infrastructure for the children of Attica. Using funds from the 2021–2027 NSRF, we are investing in education through actions, not just words, fortifying our schools against energy waste and the challenges of the climate crisis.
The improvements to be implemented in Agia Paraskevi will significantly enhance learning and daily conditions for students and teachers, while also reducing the energy footprint of school buildings. Our goal is for every euro of our European funding to be transformed into a project with a measurable social and environmental impact.
I would like to warmly thank the Mayor of Agia Paraskevi, Yiannis Mylonakis, for the close and productive collaboration we have developed. When local and regional governments work together with a shared plan and vision, the results are tangible for citizens. Similarly, the contribution of the KTIP administration has been crucial; we work systematically with them to accelerate projects that improve public schools.
With planning, perseverance, and consistency, we continue to invest in the future of our children and in the next generations of Attica.”
For his part, Mr. Mylonakis stated: “The signing of the contract marks a particularly important moment for our city and another substantial step toward improving our school infrastructure.
This project is funded by the Region of Attica and is expected to begin this summer, providing better, safer, and more modern educational conditions for hundreds of students and teachers. As the municipal government, we have made upgrading the school infrastructure in Agia Paraskevi our top priority, because we believe that investing in education and the younger generation is the most meaningful investment in the future of our city.
I would like to warmly thank the Region of Attica for its long-standing and tangible support of the Municipality of Agia Paraskevi, as well as personally to the Regional Governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, for his ongoing cooperation and decisive contribution to promoting and funding projects that are critical to the development and improvement of our citizens’ daily lives. Finally, I would like to extend my warmest thanks to Building Infrastructure (KTYP S.A.), the project’s implementing agency, for their contribution.”
