Strengthening economic and business ties between Greece and Lebanon was the focus of a meeting between the president of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Yannis Bratakos, and the Lebanese ambassador to Greece, Kenj El Hajal, at the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Also participating in the meeting was Bassam Azar, a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the ACCI Export Department.
During the meeting, the prospects for further developing cooperation between the business communities of the two countries were discussed, with an emphasis on the sectors of trade, food, energy, infrastructure, health, the pharmaceutical industry, and port services. Special mention was made of the importance of the Lebanese business community operating in Greece, which can serve as a bridge for networking, exchanging know-how, and developing new partnerships.
The Lebanese ambassador highlighted the potential of the Lebanese economy, the role of human capital and the Lebanese diaspora, as well as the need to strengthen communication channels between Greek and Lebanese businesses. At the same time, it was emphasized that, despite the challenges facing the broader region, there is significant scope for promoting mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
