Following the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the two parties in the fourth quarter of 2025, GEK TERNA and Rheinmetall are moving forward with the conclusion of a long-term, strategic, binding agreement.
This agreement combines GEK TERNA’s leading position in critical infrastructure, energy, and complex industrial systems in Southeast Europe with Rheinmetall’s world-class portfolio of ground systems and defense technologies. At the same time, it establishes an industrial partnership with significant domestic added value, which will strengthen national capabilities and generate know-how.
The two companies will combine their shared expertise to meet evolving operational requirements, with the goal of creating reliable, high-quality integrated defense solutions, while supporting the long-term development of Greece’s defense industrial ecosystem.
The goal of the collaboration is to support the Hellenic Armed Forces with cutting-edge capabilities, based, among other things, on new tactical ground systems, as well as to upgrade existing assets with parallel support throughout their entire life cycle.
Another objective is the systematic development of resilient industrial capabilities within the Greek Army’s facilities, with the active participation of Greek small and medium-sized enterprises. The goal is both to strengthen Greece’s operational autonomy and to maintain critical defense capabilities at a high level of operational readiness throughout their entire life cycle.
