The General Price Index for Construction Materials for New Residential Buildings, with a base year of 2021=100.0 and a reference month of May 2026, showed a 4.3% increase compared to the corresponding index for May 2025, compared to a 3.1% increase recorded when comparing the corresponding indices for 2025 with those for 2024.
According to ELSTAT data, the General Index for May 2026, compared to the April 2026 index, rose by 0.5%, compared to a 0.3% increase recorded when comparing the corresponding months of 2025.
The average index for the 12-month period from June 2025 to May 2026, compared to the corresponding index for the 12-month period from June 2024 – May 2025, showed an increase of 2.7%, compared to an increase of 4.7% recorded when comparing the corresponding previous 12-month periods.
