The Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Stavros Papastavrou, signed a Ministerial Decision accepting the proposal by EDEYEP S.A. to conduct a competitive bidding process for the granting of exploration licenses for the acquisition and processing of non-exclusive seismic data (non-exclusive seismic data) within offshore areas in Western and Southern Greece.
The objective is to respond to market interest in funding new seismic surveys that will provide non-exclusive data in accordance with the most up-to-date standards followed in the hydrocarbons sector. This interest is directly linked to significant developments in the growth of the hydrocarbons sector and the recent energy agreements involving Chevron and ExxonMobil.
At the same time, priority is being given to the creation of a database of 2D and 3D data for non-exclusive use that will make these areas attractive to hydrocarbon companies, as it will ensure easier access and improved data accuracy while reducing investment risk.
Interested companies responding to the Call for Proposals may propose exploration programs covering all or parts of the Area to be Explored (see attached map), while the surveys may include two-dimensional (2D) and/or three-dimensional (3D) seismic data.
This will be followed by the publication of the International Public Invitation by EDEYEP, which has been drafted in accordance with the provisions of Law 2289/1995 (Government Gazette 27/A/February 8, 1995) following expressions of interest from companies engaged in the acquisition and processing of seismic data. The deadline for submitting bids begins on the day the relevant Call for Tenders is published in the Official Journal of the European Union and lasts ninety (90) days. After the deadline has passed, EDEYEP will evaluate the submitted bids and then submit its recommendation to the Ministry.
