Papastratos announces that Iakovos Kargarotos is assuming the role of Senior Director of Corporate Affairs Strategy, with responsibility for coordinating critical strategic initiatives for Papastratos and Philip Morris International across the broader region of Southeast Europe. In his new role, he will work closely with George Margonis, Vice President of Philip Morris International for Southeast Europe.
With more than 25 years of experience at Papastratos, Iakovos Kargarotos is one of the company’s most experienced executives, having gained multifaceted market knowledge through leadership positions in the Commercial Division, in international markets, and, in recent years, as Head of Corporate Affairs.
In his most recent role as General Manager of Corporate Affairs, he played a decisive role in further strengthening the team, while his strategic leadership helped support Papastratos’s critical priorities and establish Greece as a benchmark market for the parent company, Philip Morris International, during a period of significant change for the company and the industry as a whole.
At the same time, Alexandros Hatzopoulos assumes the role of Vice President of Papastratos and Senior Director of Corporate Affairs, with responsibility for the company’s Corporate Affairs operations. Previously, he served as Corporate & Regulatory Affairs Manager at Papastratos, contributing to critical initiatives and helping shape the company’s strategy regarding regulatory matters.
He subsequently held senior positions at leading organizations and within the broader ecosystem of public policy and business strategy. Among other roles, she served as General Manager at the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) and as Chief of Strategy and External Affairs at an investment firm.
