The National Development Fund announces the appointment of Dr. Kyriakos Pozrikidis as Chairman of Thessaloniki Central Market S.A. (KATH), with the aim of further strengthening the company’s role in development and implementing its strategy for modernizing its infrastructure and services.
Dr. Kyriakos Pozrikidis has many years of experience in managing complex organizations and implementing development initiatives with a significant economic and social impact. As CEO of TIF-HELEXPO from 2013 to 2025, he played a decisive role in strengthening the organization’s outward focus, expanding international partnerships, and establishing Thessaloniki as a major exhibition and business destination.
His appointment is part of the National Development Fund’s strategy to leverage executives with proven managerial competence, international experience, and a strong focus on development, with the aim of creating long-term value for its subsidiaries and the Greek economy.
At the same time, the National Development Fund extends its warmest thanks to the outgoing Chairman of KATH S.A., Mr. Theodoros Papadopoulos, for his valuable service and contribution to the company’s growth and smooth operation during his tenure.
It is worth noting that Dr. Kyriakos Pozrikidis will officially assume his new duties on July 1, 2026.
Biography of Dr. Kyriakos Pozrikidis
Dr. Kyriakos Pozrikidis holds a Ph.D. from the University of Macedonia, a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales. He served as Chief Executive Officer of TIF – HELEXPO, S.A.S.A. from 2013 through February 2026; he served as a member of the Board of Directors (1995–1998) and President (1998–2000) of the European Union of International Tourism Trade Fairs (European Tourism Trade Fairs Association), a member of the Board of Directors (2012–present) of the World Association of Exhibitions (Union des Foires Internationales), and President of the Central European Fairs Alliance (CEFA).
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a member of the Governing Council of the University of Macedonia. He has written books on exhibition marketing and has dozens of publications in academic and industry journals in Greece and abroad. He has taught Event Management for many years at the University of Macedonia and has been honored by the Greek National Tourism Organization (EOT) and the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) for his contributions to the exhibition and conference industry.
