On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, PPA S.A. welcomed a delegation from the Hellenic Retail Business Association (SELPE) to the Organization’s headquarters. The delegation was led by the President of SELPE and PLAISIO S.A., Mr. Kostas Gerardo. The meeting focused on issues concerning the operation of the Port of Piraeus and the prospects for further cooperation between the two organizations.
As noted in the relevant announcement, the delegation was welcomed by the Deputy Managing Directors of PPA S.A., Mr. Angelos Karakostas and Mr. Panagiotis Tsonis. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on port operations, the efficient handling of cargo traffic, as well as developments in the fields of transportation, the supply chain, and retail trade.
The SELPE representatives were briefed on the operational capabilities and modern infrastructure of the Port of Piraeus, which plays a strategic role as a key hub for the country and the broader region of Southeast Europe.
As part of the visit, a guided tour of the port’s main operational areas was conducted, during which the facilities, operational procedures, and the capabilities Piraeus offers in supporting freight activity and the supply chain.
The visit took place in a particularly positive atmosphere and reaffirmed the importance of ongoing cooperation, with the aim of strengthening the competitiveness, outward orientation, and sustainable development of the Greek economy.
