OTE is moving forward with the adoption and pilot implementation of new, flexible forms of employment, taking yet another step toward creating a modern, people-centered work environment. The primary goal of these new employment arrangements is to make employees’ daily lives easier and to help them achieve a better work-life balance.
These arrangements are voluntary and are implemented for a specific period of time in each case, taking into account operational needs. These flexible forms of employment have been developed in collaboration with employee representatives and are included in the relevant Company Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The implementation of these new forms of employment will begin on a pilot basis in the IT and HR Business Units, with the goal of evaluating their expansion to all OTE employees by the end of the year.
For specific time periods and according to their individual needs, employees will have the option to:
- divide their daily work hours between in-office work and remote work, while maintaining the eight-hour workday and the 40-hour workweek,
- work a four-day, ten-hour workweek, while maintaining the 40-hour workweek and receiving one additional day off,
- flexible allocation of working hours throughout the week, with the option to accumulate working time and use it at a later date as additional recreational leave,
- the ability to work remotely from any country in the European Union, utilizing a higher percentage of telework beyond the existing framework,
- a temporary reduction in the daily work schedule, by up to four hours per day, with a corresponding proportional adjustment to compensation.
Commenting on the introduction of these new, flexible forms of employment, Mr. Panos Tsiantoulas, Chief People Officer of the OTE Group, stated: “At OTE, we believe that a modern work environment is based on trust, flexibility, and respect for people’s needs. We are experimenting with new, flexible forms of employment, giving our employees the opportunity to better organize their time and daily lives, while maintaining high levels of collaboration, accountability, and efficiency. We continue to evolve alongside our people, investing in practices that meet today’s needs and shape a modern work environment.”
At the same time, in consultation with employee representatives and to strengthen the existing regulatory framework, the Policy Against Violence and Harassment was incorporated into the Internal Staff Regulations, following the signing of a relevant Company Collective Bargaining Agreement.
