Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Aigaleo as part of his regular outreach to citizens.
“It’s been three years since the 2023 elections. We’ve taken stock of our work at a time when there’s widespread disillusionment with and skepticism toward politics, when people say ‘they’re all the same’ and political newcomers claim they’re here to save us. When the time comes, we’ll tell you what we promised you in ’23 and what we’ve accomplished to date. When the time comes, our credibility will be based on “what we told you and what we ultimately did.” “We haven’t solved everything; we will continue to work very hard,” he emphasized.
Regarding inflation, the prime minister noted that “wage increases and income support are the only defense against inflation. There are no easy solutions for lowering prices. We hope to see stable prices in the coming months and steady price reductions starting in September. This is our response to those who keep regurgitating old promises and outdated slogans. We have not forgotten the experiments that nearly led us to the brink of disaster. Greece will not return to a past that we want to forget once and for all.”
Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized that “we are addressing the silent majority, which knows that there are difficulties, but also knows that the only party with a vision for the Greece of the future is New Democracy.”
Regarding OPEKEPE, he emphasized: “Today, after a great deal of effort, we succeeded in fulfilling our commitment and paid out 617 million euros through the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), in a fair, secure, and efficient manner. We paid the subsidies to which honest farmers were entitled for all products. We cut 150 million euros from those who abused the system and redirected those funds to honest farmers. This is the battle against the deep state.”
