AEGEAN announces the launch of the new cycle of the Pilot Scholarship Program, continuing an initiative it has consistently implemented since 2018 with the aim of creating the conditions for the development of the next generation of aviation professionals in Greece.
Since the launch of the program until today, more than 280 young men and women have joined it. Of these, 150 have already completed their training and today serve in the cockpits of AEGEAN and Olympic Air, while another 88 are in the training stage, confirming in practice the enduring nature and substantial impact of the initiative.
With the new cycle, another 40 young men and women will have the opportunity to obtain a professional civil aviation license, receiving financial support for the greater part of their training, as well as the possibility of immediate professional placement in the crews of AEGEAN and Olympic Air, after the successful completion of the overall training process.
The training is carried out in cooperation with the Global Aviation and Egnatia Aviation schools, while subsequently the participants are trained at the AEGEAN | CAE Flight Training Center, the company's state-of-the-art training center, acquiring the necessary specialization in the type of aircraft they will operate.
The program, lasting up to 20 months, substantially facilitates the access of young people to a particularly demanding profession, where the total training cost approaches 100,000 euros per pilot candidate.
AEGEAN's total investment in the Pilot Scholarship Program now exceeds 17 million euros, confirming its commitment to investing in the development of the next generation of aviation professionals and contributing substantially to strengthening the air transport sector in Greece. Within the same framework, since 2022 the company has also been implementing a corresponding scholarship program for the training of Aircraft Engineers.
Applications for the new cycle of the Pilot Scholarship Program begin on 30 June 2026 and will remain open until 16 October 2026, through the program's dedicated website, while the training process will begin on 11 January 2027.
