AEGEAN announces the launch of the new cycle of its Pilot Scholarship Program, continuing an initiative it has been consistently implementing since 2018 with the aim of creating the conditions for the development of the next generation of aviation professionals in Greece.
Since the program’s inception, more than 280 young men and women have joined it. Of these, 150 have already completed their training and are currently serving in the cockpits of AEGEAN and Olympic Air, while another 88 are still in training, confirming in practice the initiative’s enduring nature and significant impact.
With this new cycle, another 40 young men and women will have the opportunity to earn a professional degree in civil aviation, receiving financial support for most of their training, as well as the opportunity for immediate employment on the flight crews of AEGEAN and Olympic Air, upon successful completion of the entire training program.
The training is conducted in collaboration with Global Aviation and Egnatia Aviation, after which participants receive further training at the AEGEAN | CAE Flight Training Center, the company’s state-of-the-art training center, where they acquire the necessary expertise for the aircraft type they will be flying.
The program, which lasts up to 20 months, significantly facilitates young people’s access to a highly demanding profession, where the total cost of training is approximately 100,000 euros per pilot candidate.
AEGEAN’s total investment in the Pilot Scholarship Program now exceeds 17 million euros, confirming its commitment to investing in the development of the next generation of aviation professionals and making a substantial contribution to strengthening the aviation sector in Greece. In the same vein, starting in 2022, the company is also implementing a corresponding scholarship program for the training of Aircraft Engineers.
Applications for the new cycle of the Pilot Scholarship Program will open on June 30, 2026, and will remain open until October 16, 2026, via the program’s dedicated website, while the training program will begin on January 11, 2027.
