The announcement of the competitive examination for the recruitment of 600 civilians as General-Duty Firefighters on Fixed-Term Contracts (PETH), under a seven-year public-law employment contract, has been published on the official website of the Fire Department.
Successful candidates will be assigned to Fire Department units, in accordance with the authorized positions specified in the announcement, thereby strengthening the Corps’ operational readiness and effective response in protecting human life, citizens’ property, and the natural environment.
Applications will be accepted exclusively online from Wednesday, July 8, 2026, through Friday, July 17, 2026, via the dedicated application available on the official website. Interested parties can find detailed information on the content of the call for applications, the required qualifications, the supporting documents, the scoring criteria, and the application submission process via the relevant link.
Regarding the announcement, the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Evangelos Tournas, stated:
“The publication of the call for applications to recruit 600 General-Duty Firefighters on Fixed-Term Contracts is yet another important step toward the ongoing strengthening of the Fire Department. From day one, we have made it a priority to substantially strengthen the Civil Protection workforce.
