The SEV Council for Sustainable Development (BIAN) held its annual General Assembly on Monday, 29 June 2026, with the main focus on the review of the actions of the 2024–2026 term and the election of a new Board of Directors. As part of the General Assembly, the organization's renewed corporate identity was also presented.
New Board of Directors for the 2026–2028 term
At the General Assembly, a new 11-member Board of Directors was elected for the 2026–2028 term. At its first meeting, the new Board reappointed for a second term as President Mr. Georgios Alexopoulos, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings S.A.

The President of BIAN, Mr. Georgios Alexopoulos, stated:

BIAN is called upon to serve this new reality in the new two-year term as well, supporting businesses with documented positions, practical tools, and meaningful dialogue.”
Ntiana Georgakopoulou, General Director of BIAN, stated:
“The new two-year term finds BIAN with strong foundations, a clear strategic direction, and even greater ambition. Our goal is to continue proving in practice that sustainability is not only a compliance obligation, but also a factor of competitiveness and value creation for Greek businesses. Together with the new Board of Directors, we will continue to develop initiatives that support businesses in the green transition and strengthen their position in an ever-changing European and international environment.”
Review of the 2024–2026 term: Effective interventions, strong presence
During the 2024–2026 term, BIAN strengthened its institutional role as a reference point for linking sustainable development with the competitiveness of the Greek economy.
More specifically:
- it actively participated in the most important public consultations, with a significant percentage of its positions being incorporated into the final regulatory framework,
- it expanded its membership base by 17%, with the addition of 6 new companies,
- it strengthened its presence in public dialogue by participating in conferences, informational events, and article writing,
- it developed new strategic partnerships, including the Memorandum of Cooperation with EYDAP within the framework of the Attica Water Lab project – an initiative aimed at exploring the possibilities of utilizing reclaimed water in Attica and shaping a framework for cooperation among the involved stakeholders.
As part of the General Assembly, BIAN's renewed corporate identity was also presented, which reflects with greater clarity its institutional role and the strategic connection of sustainable development with competitiveness.
