The SEV Council for Sustainable Development (VIAN) held its annual General Assembly on Monday, June 29, 2026, focusing on the review of activities for the 2024–2026 period and the election of a new Board of Directors. The organization’s refreshed corporate identity was also presented during the General Assembly.
New Board of Directors for the 2026–2028 term
A new 11-member Board of Directors was elected at the General Assembly for the 2026–2028 term. At its first meeting, the new Board of Directors re-elected Mr. Georgios Alexopoulos, Deputy CEO of HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings S.A., as Chairman for a second term.

The President of VIAN, Mr. Georgios Alexopoulos, stated:

VIAN is called upon to serve this new reality over the next two years by supporting businesses with evidence-based positions, practical tools, and meaningful dialogue.”
Diana Georgakopoulou, General Director of VIAN, stated:

Our goal is to continue demonstrating in practice that sustainability is not merely a compliance obligation, but a factor in competitiveness and value creation for Greek businesses. Together with the new Board of Directors, we will continue to develop initiatives that support businesses in the green transition and strengthen their position in an ever-changing European and international environment.”
2024–2026 Biennial Report: Effective Initiatives, Strong Presence
During the 2024–2026 period, VIAN strengthened its institutional role as a point of reference for linking sustainable development with the competitiveness of the Greek economy.
Specifically:
- it actively participated in key public consultations, with a significant proportion of its positions incorporated into the final regulatory framework,
- it expanded its membership base by 17%, adding 6 new companies,
- strengthened its presence in the public dialogue by participating in conferences, informational events, and publishing articles,
- developed new strategic partnerships, including a Memorandum of Cooperation with EYDAP as part of the Attica Water Lab project —an initiative aimed at exploring the potential for utilizing reclaimed water in Attica and establishing a framework for cooperation among the relevant stakeholders.
During the General Assembly, VIAN’s revamped corporate identity was also presented, which more clearly reflects its institutional role and the strategic link between sustainable development and competitiveness.
