Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Minister of National Economy and Finance and President of the Eurogroup, is traveling to Brussels today, Wednesday, July 1, where he will hold his first official meeting with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. During the meeting, they will discuss issues of mutual interest, with an emphasis on further strengthening cooperation between the Eurogroup and the European Parliament.
On Thursday, July 2, Mr. Pierrakakis will deliver a keynote address at the European Commission’s annual conference on the European budget, titled “Boost Europe: Leveraging the EU Budget for Strategic Priorities.” In his remarks, he will outline his views on strengthening the international role of the euro and the strategic importance of the European budget in financing common European priorities.
The minister will then travel to France, where on July 2 and 3 he will participate in the Aix-en-Provence Economic Meetings (Les Rencontres Économiques d’Aix-en-Provence), organized by the Cercle des économistes. This is one of Europe’s most important economic forums, bringing together leading figures from politics, the economy, business, and academia each year. This year’s event is dedicated to the theme “Navigate a World of Uncertainty.”
