Huawei continues to invest in the next generation of scientists in Greece by offering scholarships to two graduate students at the Athens University of Economics and Business as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program in the field of education.
The scholarships were awarded to Theofanis Tsakiris and Aikaterini Petroulia, students in the Department of Informatics, specifically in the Master’s Program in “Security & Development of Information Systems.” The two students completed their studies with outstanding results in a field at the heart of the digital transition: cybersecurity and the protection of information systems.
At a time when businesses, public organizations, and critical infrastructure are increasingly relying on digital technologies, and the protection of data, systems, and networks is a fundamental prerequisite for the resilience of the modern economy, as noted in the relevant announcement.
To mark their graduation, Tonia Petrovic, Senior Public Relations Manager at Huawei, attended the graduation ceremony and presented the two top-performing graduates with honorary plaques, recognizing their effort, dedication, and academic achievements. During the ceremony, the Program Director, Mr. Gritzalis, presented an honorary plaque and warmly thanked Huawei for its valuable sponsorship of the Program.
As he noted, “Their contribution is a prime example of the importance of close collaboration between the academic community and the job market. Through such initiatives, valuable opportunities are created for our students to engage with cutting-edge technological developments, develop highly sought-after skills, and effectively prepare for their professional careers.”
To date, through its Corporate Social Responsibility program, Huawei Greece has awarded scholarships, in the form of financial aid, to more than 75 undergraduate and graduate students from eight Greek universities, reaffirming its steadfast commitment to supporting education, excellence, and the development of digital skills in Greece.
